forestknoll technologies have servers located around the world. We currently have 3 monitoring servers in Canberra and Sydney Australia, 2 servers in Vancouver, Canada and another in San Jose, USA. This ensures that isITon sends alerts only when there is a problem with your server and not when there is a problem with our servers or the networks they are connected to.
The steps that isITon takes when checking your servers are:
The first monitoring node checks for the correct response from your server.
If the first monitoring node failed to connect to your server twice another monitoring node tries to connect.
If the third monitoring node cannot connect it gathers as much information as possible about the type of error.
Any diagnostic information is recorded in the isITon database.
Your alert settings are retrieved and one or more alerts are sent.
After 15 minutes have elapsed from when the first check (step 1) started the process starts again.
forestknoll technologies maintains multiple redundant systems ensuring that there is always an isITon server watching over your servers and that we can always send an alert if there is a problem.
